Posters, prices and ticket links
These are the three parts of a concert that people most often get stuck on. All of them are in the concert's form: Concerts → New Concert, or Edit on a concert you already have.
The poster
The poster is shown full width in the concert's card on your home page, at its own shape; nothing is cropped. A tall poster makes a tall card.

Upload a poster
- In the concert's form, find Poster.
- Press Upload a poster image and choose the file. The button reads Uploading... while it is sent.
- When it is done, the box above fills in with the image's address and a small preview appears beside it.
- Press Create Concert or Save Changes. The poster is not attached to the concert until you save.
| Kinds of file | JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP or SVG |
| Largest file | 10 MB, unless whoever runs your site has changed it |
A PDF is not an image and is refused. Export the poster as a JPEG or PNG first. A poster about 1,200 pixels wide is plenty.
Use an image that is already on the web
Paste its address, starting with https://, into the Poster box in place of uploading. The image stays where it is: if it is later moved or deleted there, it disappears from your site. Uploading is the safer choice.
Change or remove a poster
- To change it, upload another. The new address replaces the old one.
- To remove it, clear the Poster box and save.
Either way the old file is not deleted from your site's storage.
What depends on the poster
- The words SOLD OUT and PAST EVENT are drawn across the poster. A concert without a poster does not get them. See Reorder, hide, sell out, edit or delete a concert.
- A concert without a poster does not appear on the public Past Events page after you archive it. See Archive a concert to Past Events.
Prices
Type numbers only, without a currency sign: 25 or 12.50. Your site adds the sign from the currency chosen in Your choir's name, place, currency and time zone, and writes it the way the locale chosen there does. A whole number is shown without decimals ("$25"), anything else with two ("$12.50"). A price left at 0 is not shown.
| Box | When you see it |
|---|---|
| General price | Always |
| Student price | Always |
| Senior price | Only when Show a separate senior price is on in Site Settings → Home: Concerts |
Where prices are shown
On the concert's card (home page): one line, "From" followed by the lowest of the prices you entered, then the words from Label beside the lowest price in Site Settings → Home: Concerts, for example "(Students/Seniors)". The line is there only when at least one price is above 0.
On the Tickets page: each price on the concert's line.
| Show a separate senior price | The Tickets page shows |
|---|---|
| Off | "General:" and the general price, then "Students/Seniors:" and the student price |
| On | "General:", "Students:" and "Seniors:", each with its own price |
Prices are for information. Changing them here does not change what a ticket seller charges.
If you entered a senior price and later switch Show a separate senior price off, the box disappears from the form but the number is still stored and still counts towards "From". To clear it, switch the setting on, set the senior price to 0, save, and switch the setting off again.
Both settings are described in The concerts section of your home page.
The ticket link
The Ticket link is the address of the page where people buy tickets for this concert: your box office, a ticketing service, or the venue.
What you can type
| You type | Result |
|---|---|
https://tickets.example.org/winter-concert | Accepted. This is the usual case. |
mailto:tickets@example.org | Accepted. Opens the visitor's email program. |
tel:+15555550123 | Accepted. Starts a phone call on a phone. |
/p/season-tickets | Accepted. A page on your own site. |
www.example.org/tickets | Refused: The ticket address is not valid. Add https:// in front. |
Where it is used
The link is used in one place: the concert's line on your Tickets page. Clicking the line opens the link in a new tab.
The Get Tickets button on the concert's card does not go straight to the link. It always opens your Tickets page, where the visitor chooses the concert.
| The concert has | Its line on the Tickets page |
|---|---|
| A ticket link | Can be clicked, and opens the link |
| No ticket link | Is listed with its date, venue and prices, but cannot be clicked |
| Sold out switched on | Shows "Sold out" and "This concert is sold out", and cannot be clicked |
| A date that has passed | Is not listed |
The Tickets page and Get Tickets button need Tickets page to be on in Site Settings → Features. With it off, the cards show no prices and no button, and the ticket link is not used anywhere.
The rest of that page is described in Your Tickets page.
When you sell tickets on your own site Premium plan
If you sell a concert's tickets through your site's own Ticketing, that concert, while its tickets are on sale, gets a buying form at the top of the Tickets page and is left out of the list of links, so its Ticket link is not used. Concerts you have not set up for sale on the site keep their links. See Tickets: how it works.
The icon
Icon (an emoji) is one emoji shown large at the top of the concert's card, and beside its title on the Tickets page. It is optional.
- On Windows, press the Windows key and the full stop together to pick one. On a Mac, press Control, Command and Space together.
- The box holds 8 characters, and a simple emoji counts as two, so about four fit. Combined emoji, such as some flags and family groups, are longer and get cut off.
