Sign in to your account

Your account, at account.choirmastercms.com, is where you manage your site's plan, billing, domain and payments. It has no password. You type your email address, we send you a link, and the link signs you in. This page is for the person who holds the choir's account.

This is not how members get into the member portal or how admins get into the admin panel, although those work in a similar way. See How members log in and Log in to the admin panel.

  1. Go to https://account.choirmastercms.com.

  2. Type your address in Email address and press Email me a sign-in link.

  3. The page changes to Check your email.

  4. Open the email with the subject "Your Choir Master CMS sign-in link" and follow the link in it.

  5. A page headed Finish signing in opens. Press Sign in.

You are now on the Your account page.

The extra press in step 5 is deliberate. Some email services open every link in a message to check it for viruses, and that would use up your link before you could.

note

Check your email appears for any address that is written like an email address, including one that has no account. That is so nobody can use the page to find out who has an account with us. If you are new, the same link creates your account.

How long it lasts15 minutes from when you asked for it
How many times it worksOnce
How often you can askOne email a minute, and five an hour, to the same address
How long you stay signed in30 days on that device and browser, or until you press Sign out

If you ask more often than that, no further email is sent, and the page does not say so. Wait a minute and ask again.

The first time: "One last thing"

The first time an address signs in, the page the link opens is headed One last thing instead of Finish signing in. Nobody has an account without agreeing to the terms.

  1. Read the two documents linked in the sentence: the License Terms and the Privacy Policy. Each opens in a new tab.
  2. Tick the box beside "I have read and agree to the License Terms and the Privacy Policy, and I confirm that I have reached the age of majority in my jurisdiction."
  3. Press Agree and continue.

If you press the button without ticking the box, the page says "Please tick the box to agree to the terms before continuing." Your link has not been used up: tick the box and press again.

If you are in Québec, the sentence is shown in French first, with links to the French documents, and the English follows below it. You may accept either version.

We keep a record of which version of the documents you agreed to and when. An account that was made before this step existed is asked once, the next time it signs in. See Terms, privacy and your responsibilities.

Sign out

Press Sign out at the top right of any account page. You are signed out on that device only.

If something goes wrong

What you seeWhat it meansWhat to do
"Enter a valid email address."What you typed is not an email address.Check for a missing @ or a space, and try again.
That link has expired: "A sign-in link works once and for 15 minutes."The link is more than 15 minutes old, has been used already, or was not copied whole.Follow Ask for a new one, and use the link in the email that arrives then, not an earlier one.
"Please tick the box to agree to the terms before continuing."First sign-in only: the box was not ticked.Tick it and press Agree and continue again.
"This form was not sent from the account site."Your browser did not say which page the form was sent from. This can happen with some privacy tools.Open https://account.choirmastercms.com directly in an ordinary browser window and try again.

The email does not arrive

Work through these in order:

  1. Wait a couple of minutes. Most arrive within seconds, but some mail services hold new senders briefly.
  2. Look in your spam or junk folder.
  3. Check the address shown in bold on the Check your email page. A mistyped address gets the same page.
  4. Follow try again on that page and ask once more. Remember the limit of one email a minute and five an hour.
  5. If your address is at your choir's own domain or an employer's, ask whoever runs that mail system whether mail from choirmastercms.com is being held.
  6. Write to support@choirmastercms.com. See Get help.

Changing the address you sign in with

The account page shows your address under Your details but has no way to change it. To move the account to another address, write to support@choirmastercms.com from the address you sign in with now.

Changing it does not change who can log in to your site's admin panel. Admins are managed on the site itself: see Add, change or remove an admin.
