Your details and country
The Your details card at the foot of the Your account page holds what we know about you as our customer: your name, your choir's name and your country. Only the country changes how anything works, so it is worth getting right before you pay for a plan or connect Stripe.
These are your details with us. They are not what the public sees: your choir's name, address and contact details as they appear on your site are in the site's own settings. See Your choir's name, place, currency and time zone.
Change your details
-
Sign in to your account and scroll to Your details.
-
Change what you need to:
Field What it is Limits Email The address you sign in with. It is shown but cannot be edited here. To change it, write to support@choirmastercms.com. Your name Your own name. We use it to greet you in the emails we send about payments. Up to 120 characters. Optional. Choir or organisation Your choir's name, as our customer. It fills in Your choir's name when you create a site, and is the customer name given to our payment provider the first time you pay (if it is empty, your own name is used). Up to 120 characters. Optional. Country Where your choir is. See below. One of the list. -
Press Save. The page reloads with "Your details are saved."
The country list
Country offers: Canada, United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, France, Germany, Netherlands, and Somewhere else.
Until you choose, it reads Choose.... If you create a site first, the country you give on that form is copied here, so most accounts already have one.
Saving the card with Country set back to Choose... removes your country. Parts of the page that need one then disappear until you choose again.
What your country decides
The currency we bill you in
| Your country | Your plan and the setup package are billed in |
|---|---|
| Canada | Canadian dollars (CAD) |
| Anywhere else, including Somewhere else | US dollars (USD) |
The amount is the same number in either currency.
This is fixed the first time you go to pay: when you press a plan's button, Buy the package, or the payment button at the end of signing up. From then on, changing Country does not change your billing currency. Set your country correctly before that first payment. If it was wrong, write to support@choirmastercms.com.
Your billing currency has nothing to do with the currency of prices on your site (tickets, suggested gifts). That is chosen when the site is created and can be changed in the admin panel.
The country your Stripe account is opened in
When you connect Stripe to take card payments, the Stripe account for your choir is opened in your account's country. That in turn decides the currency Stripe pays out to your bank in. See Take card payments: connect Stripe.
Stripe needs a real country. If yours is not on the list and you chose Somewhere else, write to support@choirmastercms.com before you try to connect Stripe.
What appears only once a country is set
| Part of the page | Without a country |
|---|---|
| Plans, on a Free site | Shows "To see plans and prices, choose your country under "Your details" below." in place of the plans and their buttons |
| The Setup and migration card | Not shown |
| Taking payments, on a Premium site | Shows "Choose your country under "Your details" first: your Stripe account is opened in it." in place of the Connect with Stripe button |
If something goes wrong
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| "Choose your country under "Your details" first: it decides whether you are billed in Canadian or US dollars." | You pressed a payment button with no country set. Choose one, press Save, and try again. |
| "Choose your country under "Your details" first: your Stripe account is opened in it." | The same, for connecting Stripe. |
