Have us set up your site
If you would rather not build your site yourself, we can do it for you. The setup and migration package is a single payment for which we set up your site and move your existing content across from wherever it is now. This page is for a choir deciding whether to buy it, and for one that has.
It is separate from your plan. You pay for it once; your plan, if it is a paid one, is billed monthly or yearly as usual.
What the package includes
- We set up your site: your look, your pages, your concerts and your members.
- We move your existing content across from wherever it is now.
- We connect your domain name, if you have one.
- You are handed a finished site and shown how to keep it up to date.
For a self-hosted Community edition site there is one more item: we install the Community edition on your server or your Cloudflare account.
For the price, see the home page. It is charged in Canadian dollars in Canada and US dollars elsewhere, like a plan.
The package sets up what your plan includes. Members and a domain of your own need the Starter or Premium plan, and tickets and donors need Premium: see What each plan includes.
Where it is offered
There are two places to buy it.
While signing up
Step 2 of signing up, headed Shall we set it up for you?, offers the package. Press Include the setup and migration package, or Continue without support to leave it. If you include it, it is paid for at the end, on the same Stripe page as your plan if you chose a paid plan, or on its own if you chose Free. See Sign up.
From your account page
The Setup and migration card is below the Hosted site card. It reads "Have us set up your site for you and move your existing content across", followed by the price and "once".
- Sign in to your account.
- If founder pricing is on offer and you want it, tick its box. Read Founder pricing first.
- Press Buy the package.
- Pay on Stripe's page. Your billing address is asked for, and taxes, where they apply, are shown before you pay.
The card is shown only when your account has a country: if you cannot see it, set Country under Your details and press Save. See Your details and country.
After you pay
You are returned to your account page with one of these notices:
| Notice | When |
|---|---|
| "Thank you. We will be in touch by email to arrange your setup." | You bought the package alone. |
| "Thank you. Your site moves to its new plan within a minute, and we will be in touch by email to arrange your setup." | You bought it together with a plan while signing up. |
The Setup and migration card then reads "You have bought the setup and migration package. We will be in touch by email to arrange it." The button is gone: the package can be bought once for an account.
We write to the address you sign in with to arrange the work: what you have now, where it is, and what you would like the new site to be. Nothing on your site changes until then, and you are free to start on it yourself in the meantime.
The package has an invoice and a receipt. Find them under Manage billing: see Invoices, changing plan and cancelling.
Founder pricing
For our first 10 customers the package is offered at a lower price, called the founder price. It is an exchange: a lower price in return for two things from you.
On the account page it is a tick box, which reads: "Founder pricing: (the price) for our first 10 customers. In return, I agree to give a testimonial and to keep the "Powered by Choir Master CMS" link in my site's footer for 12 months."
While signing up there is no box to tick. Step 2 shows the founder price with a label such as "Founder price: 7 of 10 left", and says: "The founder price is for our first 10 choirs. In return you agree to give us a testimonial and to keep the "Powered by Choir Master CMS" link in your site's footer for 12 months." If you include the package while places remain, you get the founder price and take on those terms.
What it commits you to
| A testimonial | You agree to give us a few words about your experience that we may use. |
| The footer link | The "Powered by Choir Master CMS" link stays in your site's footer for 12 months from the day you buy. This applies even on the Premium plan, which otherwise lets you switch the link off. During those 12 months the switch in Site Settings, Footer has no effect. |
After the 12 months, a Premium site can switch the link off as usual. On Free and Starter the link is always shown in any case.
If you want the footer link gone from the start, do not tick the founder box: buy the package at its usual price.
These terms are part of your agreement with us. The License Terms say: "If you accept a promotional price, a special offer or a one-time service (such as founder pricing or a setup package), any additional terms presented with that offer form part of this agreement, and you must comply with them."
When the places run out
Once all 10 places have been taken, the tick box and the founder price are no longer shown, and the package is offered at its usual price.
If the last place is taken between your opening the page and pressing the button, you are returned to your account page with "The founder places have all been taken. The package is still available at its usual price." Nothing was charged. Press Buy the package again if you want it at the usual price.
For self-hosted sites
The package is also available to a choir that runs the Community edition on its own server. It is offered in the same way while signing up for the Community edition, and from the Setup and migration card afterwards, and it includes installing the software for you. See Get a licence key and the download.
The Standard edition is a different thing: a paid licence that comes with installation and support. See Community and Standard editions.
If something goes wrong

| "The founder places have all been taken. The package is still available at its usual price." | See When the places run out. |
| "That did not go through to our payment provider. Nothing was charged: try again in a minute." | Stripe's page could not be opened. Wait a minute and press the button again. |
